The end of the Revolutionary War was fought by America against the British governement in the 1770s. The Fourth of July is the day that is observed throughout the United States as Independence Day for the USA.

This independence occurred in the year 1776, when the Americans finally won their freedom from the Queens rule. The festival stands as a high point in American society and it knows no boundaries as the entire nation comes together to celebrate this grand occasion.

Upon attaining freedom from the British rule on July the 2nd, 1776, there was a resolution of independence that was passed considering the United States of America as a free country. Two days later, the Declaration of Independence was finalized. The Congressional government was instrumental in approving the Declaration of Independence and the day remains important in the American Constitution.

There has been some initial controversy concerning the celebration date for the independence as it was on the 2nd of July that the country attained freedom and it was on the 4th of the same month that the much publicized declaration statement was passed. Later it was finalized to be the 4th of July as it was the official day of Independence. Ever since the first day of an independent America, the country has never cut short its celebration proceedings on the 4th of July and rightfully so.

Fireworks, parades and picnics are a great part of the celebration for America's independence. The national anthem, the Star Spangled Banner, is played during festivities throughout the land. Since there are alot of festivities in each area of the USA, most celebrations occur outside during the summer month of July.

Extravagant fireworks are a featured part of the festivities of the Fourth of July. Camping and barbecuing are especially part of the landscape as families get together to share the celebrations with their friends and loved ones.

Detroit, New York, Chicago and Los Angeles have some of the largest firework displays in America. Usually, Independence Day in America coincides with Canada Day. Because of the danger of fireworks, many cities have banned the use of personal fireworks display.

It was in 1931 that the Congress conferred the Independence Day as a paid federal holiday so that no man is left in a quest for money at the time of celebrating the nations independence.

Because it is such an important day in America, most Americans have memories of celebrations passed for this date. The day is a remembrance of the struggle of America's forefathers in fighting for the independence of a young nation. The youth of America are reminded of these struggles through re-enactments of battles during the Revolutionary War.
