How many times have you daydreamed about being an entrepreneur? Never missing a little league game, enjoying all the benefits that come with being self employed. Perhaps you can see yourself sitting on the beach sipping Mojitas as your bank balance grows.

Reality check! Before you are off picking out your Malibu estate, you should ask yourself a very important question. Are you made to be an entrepreneur? Is it really in you to become wealthy?

To get to the bottom of this question you should compare yourself to the following characteristics, Can you / do you:

-Stay with something without instant gratification? Your first day of entrepreneurship will be the most exhilarating day of your life. In fact, you probably will not come off cloud nine for many days if not weeks.

Unfortunately, the high does not last very long. Now you are faced with working long hours trying to make a go of it and all the adrenaline has dried up. The hardest part at this point is you are working diligently without any tangible results. Leaving you with little if anything to motivate you on to your goals.

Answer me just one question: Will you keep at something even if pay off is delayed? If you can honestly answer in the affirmative then you may have what it takes to be an entrepreneur.

-Let a losing idea die? Look, when you spend precious time on an idea it will feel like a part of you and truthfully it is, this is your baby so to speak and it will be hard to turn lose of your brainchild.

No one is perfect and before you know it you can be neck deep in a bad concept that threatens the very life of your business. Is it in you to let go and move on to the next idea in spite of your emotional attachment to the plan? Do this part well and you are on your way to being a good entrepreneur.

-Have self-confidence and assurance in your own abilities? Many people will doubt what you are trying to do; in fact, some may even ridicule you. When you let their opinion affect you the battle is already lost.

It takes rock solid confidence in your idea and abilities, if you have that you can be a great entrepreneur.

-Have a good idea of the value of your product or service? The number one problem with new business owners is in the beginning they will sweat blood and tears for very little money. Many times this is a result of faulty thinking. The new entrepreneur knows they would not or could not afford to pay a specific amount for the product and therefore they price it too low.

Remember you are not the target market, you are not the consumer. Since you are providing a needed service or product that is highly valued by consumers you should naturally be paid accordingly. Rest assured if you charge too much the customer will be quick to inform you.

Value the solutions you provide until you hear otherwise. You may be a good entrepreneur when you get this part down pat.

-Solve difficulties? Last but not least, do you offer something that solves a problem?

Entreprenuers must be problem solvers, there is simply no one else to solve them. This is your business, your baby if you will and the buck stops with you. All the corporate big dogs are gone and you are the boss!

The main reason you have to be a problem solver is to stay in business and make a killing! Trust me if you can spot a problem in the lives of people and then solve it they will pay dearly for the answer. When you have successfully accomplished this you are a good entrepreneur.
