Whether you're an adult who is involved in getting began with a hobby on your own or you are concerned in receiving your child or grandchild riveted in the hobby, RC cars have been fun for many generations.

The first RC cars were in point of fact presented to the public in the 1960s. The cars that were faired during that time were much diverse than the cars that we are familiar with today, but at the time they were wildly popular because the public had never found anything like them.

The 1970s was truly a decade of change for RC cars. During the early part of the decade a British company known as Mardave began to manufacture RC cars. It did not take long for many companies in the United States to begin producing RC cars as well. It was at this time that the first 1/8 nitro powered RC car kits were created. The most renowned of all of these RC cars was the K&B Veco McCoy. As time went on, manufacturers experimented with a variety of different sorts of RC cars as well as suspension systems, engines and fuel tanks.

1976 is considered to be the golden year for RC cars. It was at this time that a Japanese company called Tamiya began to make RC cars. Prior to that time Tamiya had created Exceedingly detailed mini car models. The first RC cars introduced by Tamiya were quite expensive, but they were likewise wildly known. The early Tamiya models have since gone on to become collector's items. Some of these models are capable of fetching costs of $3,000 and even beyond. Tamiya has since released some of the earliest and most known of their models. Those models sold out just as quickly as the original models.

Since the 1970s, manufacturers around the world have created great strides in the production of RC cars. Today there're RC cars of every type and variety imaginable. Not only can you select different scales of RC cars but you may similarly select from among nitro fueled, gas fueled and electric fueled cars. There're similarly many different models of full-size cars represented in the form of RC cars, making it possible for enthusiasts to finally own their dream car no matter how exotic or overpriced the full size model might happen to be. From entry level models to more pricey models, RC cars are still just as popular as ever.
