Cakes in Festivals

Cakes, have been, one of the thoroughfares of humanity over the years. More gentle than the tough cookie, more sweet than the coarse bread, more elegant than your pie; cakes can be considered as one of the epitomes of success for the baking industry. The cake, in my opinion, has had the most number of evolutions and changes in the history of mankind.

Traditionally, a cake is a type of food that is usually of the bread-oriented, and sweet and baked (though right now, there are cakes which can be cooked without the use of heat). The basic cake ingredients are usually some sort of flour (wheat, potato, depending on the gluten content which determines the quality of the cake), sweetener, binder (eggs and the like), fats, liquids and some sort of leavening agent. Though this is for the normal proper cake, there are other cake forms that are either incomplete, or have made substitutions but over all; a cake is a cake.

But do you have any idea what a good cake is for a festival run? First, try and check what the environment is like. Check the temperature, check the people that come in. Is it hot? Too cold? Are the audience the kid type? The adult type? Depending on the temperature, it would affect what contrast you have in mind. Kids making up the general population, your cake should focus on fun and colors. Otherwise, sophistication and taste should be your priority if you have the classy gents and the snobbish ladies (chocolate is still your best bet).

Cakes tritely affect the various moods and tastes of each person or individual that tastes them. They influence a great deal of your olfactory and visual sensations (the very smell and appearance of a cake varies in tantalizing the person before them. Some may find them quite delectable, others would think of the hidden calories). It's good if you can have a lot of cakes to choose from. Sweet cake, bitter cake, sour cake, salty ones. You can have single themed cakes, like chocolate or vanilla, or you can go for complicated ones like bananoffee or mint-chocolate. The possibilities are endless.

Cakes are all around. They can support themselves if need be, you just need a willing audience and a whole lot of networking. And innovation too. You must keep cakes from getting boring. Add some pizazz. Spice them up when needed. Cakes are the star of the show, YOUR show. A little bit of flare and enthusiasm would certainly go a long way for you and your cake.
