Want To Have More Traffic To Your Site

Having huge traffic to your website means that you have more individuals accessing information from your site. Your website traffic will also depend on the number of pages being accessed in a given period of time. Most sites will have software tools called hit counters to "count" the number of times the site is being accessed. With this you can know whether your site is popular with visitors or not.

This enables them to know which pages are most popular. This way, the web designer knows what needs to be improved, changed, removed or added. Monitoring is also done for security purposes since not all web traffic is good.

Websites encourage people to visit the sites but there are also cases where there are restrictions on who gets to view certain pages on the site. This is done by use of passwords. Restrictions to pages on a website can be done by only allowing those visitors who have a certain bandwidth or number of connections. The success of a website is pegged on the number of visitors therefore most companies want to increase web traffic.

This is one of the best ways to get people to know your site. You can also buy advertisement space, which entails; pop-up ads, in-page advertisements and sending bulk emails. Advertising outside the Internet is another good way to popularize your website. Do it creatively, people will see, read or hear about it and become interested in knowing more about what's on offer at the site. Try and have your website on several search engines. This increases the likelihood of people finding it easily. Place it at a good location, preferably on the first page, because this is where most people stop their search. Most hardly go to the next pages.

Another great method of traffic generation is to have links to your site. Approach sites that have content that is similar to you site and ask them to include a link to your site. This means that every time a visitor clicks on the links you have provided, your website gets more traffic. As much as sites want to increase traffic, having too many visitors on your website can prevent access to it or make it slow. This is because the server may get too many file requests.

This is because the server may be overwhelmed by the many file requests it gets and fail to send the expected feedback to browsers. While most websites that operate on a large-scale can handle the large number of visitors, small websites may not. A site that becomes popular all of a sudden may also experience problems if the person managing it has leased a bandwidth.
