When it comes to industrial adhesives as you will soon discover there are many different types being used by various industries today. The main thing they have in common is that they have been developed in order to reduce the amount of time and money it takes to produce a certain product. So through using these many companies are able to actually increase their revenue levels quite substantially.

However, along with the current array of industrial adhesives already in use a lot of time and money is being spent on developing and creating new ones. These are the types of adhesives that are further going to ensure that production speeds are increased further and which will further save on the costs of manufacturing.

So what are the types of industrial adhesives presently being used?

1. Hot Metal Industrial Adhesive - This can be both softened and hardened several times before allowing it to set and bond the materials together. As well as its superb bonding qualities this adhesive causes the materials to bond together a lot faster. Of course the main advantage to be had from using this type of industrial adhesive is that if mistakes are made they can be corrected before the materials finally bond with each other. Also this particular adhesive is strong and only small amounts need to be used.

2. Contact Adhesive Spray - This can be used for either permanently or temporarily bonding materials together and is ideal to for use on surfaces which are either porous or uneven. Along with offering a temporary fix to a problem these industrial adhesives are waterproof, won't stain objects they come in contact with, transparent and flexible. Plus these have no effect on the environment as they contain no depleters that could damage the ozone layer or chlorinated solvents.

3. Acrylic Industrial Adhesive - Compared to other types of industrial adhesives this one only needs a short period of time in order to create a lasting bond between two objects. It sets through the use of a free radical mechanism and to create the bonding agent two components need to be mixed together. This particular adhesive comes in both solvent and emulsion based forms and most often is used in the construction industry.

4. Anaerobic Adhesive - This kind of industrial adhesive requires no oxygen or air in order to set and will be used to create seals where no heat, oxygen or light is present. This is also an adhesive which can be used in the bonding of a wide variety of materials with each other including masonry, paper, plastics, wood, fabrics, rubber, ceramic, glass and elastometers.

5. Conductive Industrial Adhesives - Most often used in industries where the need to prevent an electrostatic discharge or electromagnetic or radio frequency interference from happening. Often these types of adhesives will be used to improve the dissipation of heat between two items and form a thermal conductive layer as well.

Above we have looked at some of the types of industrial adhesives that are being widely used today. However, as you will soon learn there are plenty of others that are also being used and which you may find useful as well.
