If money is as tight for you as it is for us in Cartersville, it shouldn't have to mean no holiday party for your employees. When you weigh the benefits of having everyone get together in a positive atmosphere of a holiday party, it just makes sense.

Pick a Venue

You could do the work yourself, doing a google search, checking the yellow pages and calling around. Or you could get the party off to a great start and create a contest among the party goers. Offer a gag gift to the winner, so you have no cost and ask everyone to suggest a fun, cheap venue to have the party at.

Remember the weather might be bad that time of year so try and keep the driving distance to a minimum. This will help in keeping the cancellations to a minimum.

It is party time, but what kind of party?

By having a theme, several other steps become much easier. Again with a theme you are creating a buzz before the actual event. Even if some hard core employees think it is stupid you are still getting them involved in anticipating the event. But lets focus on the excited employees.

Once you have a theme, organizing the party is much easier. It gives everyone a direction to work towards. You can find online cheap decoration for almost anything these days. Games and contests will also be simpler to come up with when designed around a theme. Even producing fliers about the event is easier.

Find a Caterer

Select a holiday caterer who is willing to work with you on your budget and theme and specializes in corporate holiday catering. Many caterers stick with the same old basic holiday selections and do not like to make changes. Interview several caterers and find one that is excited about doing something different. Experience and references are also a plus in choosing your caterer.

Pick a Menu

Now that you have a theme and a caterer the menu should fall into place. Yet now is also the time for creativity. Do your best to steer away from the same old same old. Actually a good trick is to look at several menus and compile a list of the typical items. Then agree not to use any of these items.

As explained with food tastes be careful of comparing pricing from different towns. Do not expect to pay the same price for a party in Cartersville as you would for the same event in Kennesaw.

Take into account the time of day of the party. People will each much more food at dinner time than they will at a party right after work or later in the evening. Also people will tend to eat more if there is alcohol being served. Spend some time with your Holiday Caterer and make some appropriate choices.

Be reasonable in your requests with your holiday caterer, don't expect to get steak at chicken prices. Yet a stir fry or mini french dip sandwiches may fit the bill. Also be careful not to have to many exotic dishes matching your theme, many people will not eat foods they have never had before.

Utilize the help from your employees with contests and suggestions and your next holiday event, and you will have a successful event if you are in Cartersville or any other city.
