The Celtic art belongs to the Celtics that lived in Europe around 500 B.C. These tribes lived mostly in Europe and their main home was Ireland and Scotland. They gave rise to various art forms that are still popular today.

The most famous designs are the spirals, knots and swirls. They have often swirling lines flowing around. The Celtics believed that everything is connected in life. So their beliefs are reflected from their designs where various swirling lines cross and connect.

There are different knots. Various designs signify different knots like marriage or love knots. Celtic crosses are quite popular and are another reflection of their belief in inter connectivity of all things.

The original Celtic cross symbol reflected the four elements of earth. It was later seen as a religious symbol of Christians. This pagan symbol was widely used. Various animal designs were also used in Celtic jewellery and were an important part of their arts.

Animal designs have been discovered in various ancient historical jewellery items. These are very delicate but have a touch of ancient European history and art. These designs are still crafted on many types of items.

Various types of rings, pendants, bracelets and other items are available. Celtic silver jewellery is very popular. It is delicate and has to be carefully cleaned to remove the tarnished spots.

Irish Celtic Jewellery is the most popular. There is also a sense of magic associated with it. It does not have to be worn only on special occasions. It can be worn on all occasions and there are various designs available to suit every wardrobe.

Celtic designs have been around for thousands of years and still growing in popularity. Heavier jewellery items suit the evening wears and light items can be worn during the day. So you can add a bit of uniqueness and magic to your wardrobe with these.
