The 12th Annual Pine Hill Festival will be on April 4, 2009. The Stone County will celebrate their festival starting from 9:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. at Blaylock Park, Pine Ave., Wiggins, MS USA 39577. There will be no admission fee for the public.
The organizers of this festival are the Stone County Economic Development Partnership. They are a non-profit organization that aims to encourage business to operate greenand provide green collar jobs. They became a model to other communities in the state by being the first country to go Green.
The Pine Hill Festival organizers, Stone County Economic Development Partnership, have made extra efforts over the years to add different activities to make sure that the public will enjoy the festival. One of the latest activities that were added last year was the Stone County Idol Competition. Aside from this the all time favorites are still around like the Soap Box Derby, 5-10K run, 1-mile fun walk, Stone County Idol competition and Talent Show Contest.
Craft makers for all over the country will be traveling here to attend this annual festival. They will be selling their unique handmade crafts and art. Different local and national vendors will be featuring their wonderful cuisines. The live band entertainment for this year will be the T-Bone Pruitt and ISIS.
The 5k and 10k run will be at 8:00 A.M. while the 1 mile walk will be 9:00 A.M. on April 4, 2009. Both the 5k and 10k run and 1 mile walk will start at Blaylock Park in Downtown Wiggins, MS. For the Pine Hill Festival Talent Show starts 9:00 A.M. at the Blaylock Park stage. Then on 10:00 A.M. you can watch or join the Thrill of the Hill Soap Box Derby. The signing and practice of the derby will start at 8:30 A.M.
