Like everything else that has a scientific nature, there is a process involved in paternity testing that ensures the accuracy of the results. Regardless of whether the results are needed for child support cases or any other court ordered paternity testing needs, some form of standardized procedure is needed so that the results are always of the highest quality.

Selecting The Site

The first set of issues that interested people will need to deal with is all about selecting the site that you feel will meet your needs. There are several things to consider here and at the top of the list is the accreditation of the place. Take a look at the industry leaders and youll see what separates the best in the industry from the rest.

For example, paternitydirect.com has all the necessary accreditation from the New York State Department of Health as well a several other appropriate facilities and thats the first thing that you need to look for. Its great to find a place to have paternity testing carried out that has a great friendly staff, but you need to be sure that the facility you pick has been given the okay from all the proper government agencies.

Identification

There are things that you need to consider at the collection site of the place where you plan to get your paternity testing procedure carried out as well. Make sure when youre going to one of these sites that you bring the proper government issued identification with you so that you can speed the process along. As well, there is usually some manner of consent form that needs to be signed and a legal guardian must sign the consent forms for minors that are being tested.

Of course youll need to sort through all the different versions of DNA testing that are available as paternity testing is just one option. The science itself has grown over the years to the point where there are tests available for a variety of different needs today above and beyond paternity testing.

For example, Immigration DNA testing has been used and requested by Embassies all over the world as a safe guard to ensure that when one family member makes an application to immigrate, they are in fact members of the same family.

Still the most common form of DNA testing remains paternity testing and to that end there are many facilities that can help with everything from Immigration to Grandparentage testing.
